Review:
There
are three reasons that a film will stay on the shelf unreleased
for years: First, there's financial troubles. Second, legal
problems. Third: It sucks bigtime and everybody's gonna be
embarrassed. Big time.
This is a number
three situation.
You can tell
this is a turkey from the title. Even in the future, nobody's
going to name their kid Pluto. It sounds too much like the Jetsons.
Now as to the movie itself. It's boring.
Pluto Nash is
played by Eddie Murphy. He is, as he must be, a con artist fresh
out of jail, when he saves his pal Tony Francis(Jay Mohr) from
being offed by loan sharks on the Moon, this being 2080 and all.
So cut to seven
years, later, and our hero has turned Tony's place into a major
hotspot. One day, a certain Dina Lake(Rosario Dawson), a beautiful
earthling who has traveled to the moon to further her singing
ambitions comes into the club looking for work.
He gives her a
job. The next day the villains arrive, and one of the more
predictable chases start.
I like action
movies. It's fun to watch things blow up and fun to watch chases,
especially fast ones. But not here. I fell asleep.
Don't even
bother to rent this on video
