Greenwich Village Gazette

From the start of this City of New York, the Irish immigrant played an integral part. There has hardly been a day without the reminder of the Emerald Isle. to this day you will find a lot of Sullivans, O'Reillys, and O'Toole's on the NYPD. There are more than one O'Shaughnesy on the Fire Department. In spite of the 21st century, you can still hear a bit of the brogue in many a pub and on many a train. a

The Greenwich Village Gazette would like to pay tribute to the Irish in providing a detailed history of their influence on the United States, especially our fair city.
